Postage Charges

Postage is $12.00 per book shipped by Australia Post to addresses within Australia. Overseas postage, regardless of location is $34.00 per book shipped by Australia Post. Please ensure that the delivery address you provide us is correct.

Cancelling an Order

If necessary, you can cancel your order provided that you contact us before you receive the shipping confirmation email. Please email sales@ultimatetravelcompanion.com.au or phone 1300 532 990 quoting your order number.

Refund Policy

Refunds will not be provided except where required by law.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Entry is only open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.
  3. To enter, eligible entrants must, during the Promotion Period, complete and return the advertising form to be featured in the first edition of The Ultimate Travel Companion book in the reply paid envelope by 30/06/09 to be entered into the draw for the Chance to Win $25,000.
  4. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  5. Incomplete, indecipherable, or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.
  6. One entry per completed and valid advertising form permitted.
  7. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant.
  8. Promotion commences on 25/05/09 and closes 5pm 26/06/09. Entries must be received by 5pm on 30/06/09. The draw will take place at Suite 11, 210 Toorak Road, South Yarra Vic 3141 at 11am local time on 03/07/09.
  9. The first valid entry drawn from all entries will win that entrant (“Participant”) the opportunity to participate in the Game for the chance to win $25,000. The winner will be notified by mail and their name will be published on www.ultimatetravelcompanion.com.au and in The Australian on 10/07/09. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  10. The Game will take place at Suite 11, 210 Toorak Road, South Yarra Vic 3141 at 11am on the 17/07/09. The Participant will participate via telephone. If the Promoter has been unable to contact the Participant prior to the Game, a representative of the Promoter will be appointed as the proxy of the Participant to play the Game on the Participant’s behalf.
  11. There will be 250 numbered envelopes on a table at the start of the Game. One (1) envelope will contain a message representing the major prize of $25,000. The other 249 envelopes will be representative of a $250 consolation prize. The Participant/proxy/representative (“Attendee”) must choose only one (1) number without touching, handling or interfering in any way with any of the other envelopes. If the Attendees found to have breached this condition, he/she will be disqualified. If the Attendee selects the number of the envelope that contains the message representing the major prize, then, subject to verification by the judges, the drawn Participant will win $25,000. If the Attendee selects one of the remaining 249 numbered envelopes, then the $25,000 prize will not be given away and, subject to verification by the judges, the drawn Participant will win the $250 consolation prize.
  12. For the avoidance of doubt, if the Attendee is a representative of the Promoter or a proxy, the prize will be awarded to the original Participant drawn. All other envelopes not selected by the Attendee will not be given away.
  13. The drawn Participant’s odds of winning the $25,000 prize are 1:250.
  14. Cash prize will be awarded in the form of a cheque.
  15. Total prize pool value is up to $25,000. Prizes, or any unused portion of a prize, are not transferable or exchangeable.
  16. A draw to award the prize drawn in the original Game, if unclaimed, may take place on 23/10/09 at the same time and place as the original draw, subject to any directions from a regulatory authority. The winner’s name will be published in The Australian on 30/10/09.
  17. Entrants consent to the Promoter using the entrant's name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this competition (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
  18. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
  19. Any cost associated with accessing the promotional website is the entrant’s responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.
  20. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (f) use of the prize.
  21. The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the Promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to the Promoter. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
